Money In & Out is committed to protecting your privacy. This app is designed with privacy as a core principle - no ads, no tracking, no data collection.

Data Collection¶

We do not collect any personal data. All information you enter into Money In & Out remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party services.

Receipt Scanner & On-Device AI¶

Money In & Out includes a receipt scanner powered by on-device AI:

How It Works¶

Receipt images are processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework
Text extraction uses optical character recognition (OCR) running locally
Smart parsing uses Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models) when available
All AI models run on your device - nothing is sent to the cloud
Receipt images are stored locally with your transactions

Your Privacy¶

No receipt images are uploaded to any server
No transaction data is sent externally
All processing happens on-device
Receipt images sync via your iCloud (if enabled) - never through our servers
You can delete receipt images anytime

On-Device AI Model¶

Money In & Out includes a complete AI language model (Qwen3 1.7B, 4-bit quantized): - Bundled inside the app (~1 GB) - Runs entirely on your device - No data sent to Apple or any external service - No internet connection required - Completely private and secure

Data Storage¶

Local Storage¶

All transaction and category data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData
Receipt images are stored locally with transactions
Data is stored in your device's secure storage area
No data is accessible to other apps or services
Protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)

Your Control¶

You own your data completely
Delete any transaction anytime
Delete any category anytime
Uninstall the app to remove all local data

iCloud Sync¶

Optional Feature¶

iCloud sync is completely optional. You can use Money In & Out without ever enabling it.

How iCloud Sync Works¶

If you choose to enable iCloud sync:

Your data synchronizes across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service
Data is stored in your private iCloud account
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
We do not have access to your iCloud data
Only you can access your data

Disabling iCloud Sync¶

You can disable iCloud sync anytime:

Go to device Settings
Tap your name > iCloud
Disable Money In & Out
Choose to keep or delete iCloud data

Money In & Out uses zero third-party services.

No analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
No advertising networks
No crash reporting services
No social media integrations
No tracking pixels
No cookies
No external APIs
